Staff- and teaching mobility

Promoting the linguistic and intercultural communication skills and decision-making of administrative staff and networking with partner universities, including at an administrative level, plays an important role in the internationalization and excellence strategy of the University of Bonn and the Faculty of Agriculture.

In addition to language courses and intercultural training, experience abroad contributes in particular to the enhancement of intercultural and international competencies. This experience abroad is made possible by the "Staff Mobility" funding line of the Erasmus program.

Erasmus+ Staff Mobility

The core element is a one- to two-week work shadowing at a European university/a European company or participation in a so-called International staff week. Through this experience, employees of the University of Bonn can get to know administrative processes and issues in a different European country and higher education system, and gather ideas for the further development of their field of work. At the same time, foreign language skills and intercultural competencies can be expanded. In addition, in the case of work shadowing at a university, relationships with Erasmus partner universities of the Faculty of Agriculture are also strengthened at an administrative level.

Target Groups

Non-academic staff from administration and technology

Lecturers and other academic staff (with substantial administrative activities or whose projects within the framework of staff mobility focus on administrative / management topics)

Doctoral students

Possible Activities

Work shadowing in a European Erasmus program country

Participation in International Staff Weeks at a European university

Participation in English language courses abroad [Serviceportal] organized by the International Office

Academic staff: visit a European partner university for the preparation of seminars, lectures and examinations (no teaching and research activities or participation in conferences!)

Doctoral students: activities to improve management skills and acquire key qualifications, e.g., via work shadowing at universities or research institutions or participation in workshops (no congress participation or research-related stays)

Further components of staff mobility are a half-day preparation and follow-up workshop as well as participation in an intercultural training course offered by Human Resource Development (Personalentwicklung).

In the service portal of the University of Bonn you will find information on application modalities and funding rates. If you are interested or have any questions, please contact the International Affairs Unit or the Erasmus Coordination Office of the Faculty of Agriculture.

Erasmus teaching mobility

Lecturers can go to a European partner university for a short lectureship (usually 1-2 weeks, max. 6 weeks). This enables cooperation to be intensified, specialist knowledge to be exchanged and the academic network to be expanded. It also increases the international visibility of the University of Bonn and the Faculty of Agriculture and makes it easier to motivate students for a stay abroad.

The teaching activity should comprise at least two consecutive days of teaching.

Target Groups

Professors
